[Silver hadn't come home.

That was how it had started. Clarissa hadn't been worried. Annoyed? Yes. The nerve of it, Silver disappearing early morning and not letting her know that he was going to be out for hours. Surely it was just courteous to let the person you lived with know if you wouldn't be coming home, right? She had stewed on it and quickly forgotten about it again, going on with her own damn day. It wasn't until it began to get late and Silver wouldn't pick up her calls on his PokeGear that Clarissa began to...not even worry, not yet. No, she just grew angrier and more impatient...until she got the call.

A ransom note, that's what the Grunts had to show her when had she reached base, out of breath from running and demanding to know the situation. That's when concern kicked in. Not just concern, either. Panic. With the Executives MIA and nor the time nor the patience to sit around and play hostage politics Clarissa had ordered her Grunts to her and they had set out. It would be against anyone else's best interests, but with the knot of rage and panic in her stomach Clarissa isn't willing to do anything but tear whoever took the heir— Silver apart.

...Mercifully their opposition is a manageable one. A slapdash gang of rogue trainers-come-bounty hunters. Potentially a force to be wary of...but not a patch on bona fide Team like Rocket, as hoped. Unorganised petty thugs who don't know their damn place... Clarissa sees their members falling to her Team's numbers and brutality as she tears through the run-down network of below-ground corridors as she searches desperately for Silver. The floor shakes with explosions from other areas of the building as this small portion of Team Rocket puts the teams ridiculous supply of Electrodes and Voltorbs to use as retribution for this group's insult against theirs. Normally she would love to join in with the carnage but right now all she can focus on is finding Silver, pelting through the building and taking-out any members she runs into on the way with Blastoise and Clefairy.]

[Silver gives her a bit of a dirty look, doing his best to sit up on his own with her hands gripping his arms. Clarissa should consider herself lucky he doesn't have the energy to fight her right now.]

[Yeah yeah, whatever you say, Silver. Clarissa's pretty damn certain she would win even if Silver wasn't down for the count. She'll glare half-heartedly back at him for that look he just gave her, too...

But, well, whatever. As long as he's sitting she's satisfied for now. She reaches for the glass of water and painkillers — even if Silver doesn't want the meds she's willing to bet he hasn't been given anything to eat or drink all day. She holds the glass out to him.]

How bad does your head hurt?

Pretty bad. [takes the glass and the meds from her. This is definitely a Bad Sign, Silver is normally the world's worst patient.]

[That is indeed worrying...

Now that there's actually room on the sofa Clarissa will sit down properly instead of on the edge, scooting back on the seat-cushion, keeping a careful eye on Silver.]

[Silver quietly takes the medicine, then buries his face in his hands once more.]

[She'll move the glass and the painkillers out of harms way and turns her attention back to Silver.

It's— it's hard to place but something about how Silver continues to close himself off, bugs her. It's not with anger or panic anymore, but her stomach is still painfully knotted and— Fuck it, he's here and he's safe, and yet...

She bites angrily on her lip as she watches him for a moment, before reaching for his arms and pulling his hands from his face once again.]

Look at me, already.

[Silver just shakes his head, he's trembling and clearly on the verge of a breakdown even as he tries to stave it off]

I...

[She can feel him trembling and while her hold on him doesn't let-up, but it softens slightly, becoming more comforting than controlling. Whether Silver wants her to or not, Clarissa will be pulling him to her, letting go of his arms and wrapping her own around him.]

[Yeah, now he's struggling. Not as much as he normally would, but still.]

Don't. Just-just don't! It's not gonna make any difference after what happened!

[Clarissa just holds onto him more tightly, though it's not a gesture of comfort rather one to restrain him. Even at this, the slightest provocation she can feel the anger rising, but it's less at Silver than it is...just balled up frustration and sadness and every emotion that she's gone through this fucking day, all cooped up and with nowhere for it to be directed at but at Silver himself. A contrast to the quiet care she was showing him only a few minutes ago, she's close to shouting now.]

I don't care! I don't fucking care if it makes a damn difference or not! Do you know how fucking worried I was? I was scared! Silver, I—

[She breaks off midsentence, not even wanting to continue it. She was terrified something would happen to him, that's what. She holds him even closer, trembling herself now with rage, her face pressed to the side of his neck.]

[This is the second time she's used his name today. Or at least Silver would notice that if he weren't having a complete meltdown]

They just-grabbed me and knocked out all my Pokemon and then dragged me off! "Rocket Boss's kid", they said, talking about how much money they'd get if they could get Dad to... [he shakes his head, tears threatening to spill over] Not that Dad would ever give a fuck anyway!

Tch...what about me? I was the one that came to get you out of there, right?!

[She's as insensitive as usual but she doesn't care. ...But her hold on Silver will still become warmer, less harsh. One arm still wrapped possessively around Silver's back, she'll be moving her other hand to the back of his head, burying her fingers in his thick red hair. Right now she just wants him kept close to her.]

That's just it! I had to be rescued, I was tied up and helpless and weak and I couldn't fucking do anything about it! [without realizing his fingers are clutching the material of her shirt, holding on tightly]

Hmph. You're so ungrateful...

[She doesn't mean it, and she doesn't sound like she does either. This is one of the rare times when Clarissa knows perfectly how Silver feels, because her issues are a near mirror of his. She knows how much it hurts to feel weak...how useless you feel when you struggle to live by your own means but still find yourself powerless and relying on someone else again and again.

She strokes Silver's hair just a little and nuzzles her head against him.]

[By now he's crying and doesn't even care that he is, much less on her shoulder.]

His heir...just a tool...

[Clarissa doesn't say anything more, just continues to hold Silver close while he cries. There's nothing she can think to say, nor does she care to say anything. She'll just let allow him to cry on her for as long as he needs to; he might feel better after he gets it all out of his system anyway.]

[And Silver just lets it all out, the fear and anger and humiliation]

I never meant anything to him, to them, the only thing he'd ever miss about me was having someone to mold into another him! If even that...he wouldn't have come for me, I could've had my life threatened and he wouldn't have come...

[She just listens...or, half-listens. It's all stuff she's heard before, stuff she'll never really get. ...And with the insignia she wears she's in too much of an awkward place to say anything about any of it. It's just good if Silver gets it all out, and all she really cares about is that he's safe. With the hand that had been at the back of Silver's head she moves his hair out of the way, planting a careful kiss on his neck.

[Oh, that's enough to distract him from his BSOD, at least for a moment]

Y-you...

[Distractions are good, right?]

...You what? [She'll kiss him once more, closer to his jawline this time, pressing slightly deeper and letting the contact linger a moment longer than with the first one.]

...d-damn it, what do you think you're doing... [it feels good, though, he hates that it feels so good, he shouldn't want it at a time like this!]

[Well, getting Silver in the mood wasn't what she was trying to do, but...welp! This works! A bit of intimacy has got to be better for him than keeping up moping around, and maybe it will make him relax at last after everything that's happened...

Another kiss, then, deliberately harder than the last and less chaste this time.]

[A barely-audible moan escapes him; damn his vulnerability, damn it, damn it...]

I almost...what if they'd... [they could have done some real damage if they'd wanted to, if Clarissa hadn't shown up when she did...]

[Clarissa just catches that moan and her mouth stretches into a wicked grin as she savours the sound. As always, she loves getting an audible response out of Silver, even if it's only a very quiet one (she'll do what she can to fix that, anyway...)

She's just about to kiss him again, her lips brushing against Silver's skin, before what he says distracts her. She pulls back a bit, scowling to herself.]

What if they'd what? I got you out of there, right? You're safe, aren't you?

[...her tone is firm in a that's all that matters (so shut it) kind of way. Clarissa loosens her hold on Silver just a little and returns her mouth to his neck. She nudges his head further to the side, before kissing the soft fleshy area under his jaw, pressing deep against it and kissing the area open-mouthed.]

[Damn it, she's ruining his BSOD...how can he be enjoying it when his life was in such danger?! He pulls away a little, gasping with sobs]

I can't even leave the house anymore, can I?! Without bounty hunters or other people wanting to get their hands on me for money! You got me out this time, but what if next time you don't get there in time?! [he knows he sounds like a paranoid weakling, he's whining, he's going to hate himself for this later, but...]
