Well, aren't you sweet. [She sighs, the exhale of breath shallow and tired, before she closes her eyes again and lets her head lull gently back against Elisa's.]
It's hot and dry here—there's no plants or water, just rock and sand wherever you look. The weather and the terrain are so harsh that transportation to other towns is shitty, so people end up trapped here with nowhere to go—everyone's always restless and frustrated because of that. The entire is town run down and dirty, there's nothing to do...there are battles, but that's all there is. [A pause.] ...I don't mind that. This is what I've known for the last...ten years. Roughly that, I guess. But I wondered how someone from outside of Orre would find it here.
[There's another of her silences, and in the passing of a moment Jo appears tense. She shuffles about a bit, awkwardly adjusting her position on the sofa. Her hold around Elisa becomes more rigid, tightening and loosening like Jo's suddenly unsure of how, or even if she wants to hold her.]
But you know. There's. Um. [Her speech becomes stilted, the way she says her words slower than usual. Jo takes a breath, mouthing a curse word to herself and squeezing her eyes tighter shut before she tries again.] Having you hanging around makes me think there was always more missing from here than I thought. You know. When you're not here.
[It's barely eloquent and hardly a statement worthy of the amount of struggle it took to get out, but Jo has always been inept with speaking her feelings. These are just the meagre keynotes of what she feels, which is that when Elisa's not here, this tiny, scruffy box she lives in stops feeling like home and feels cold and empty, and so isolating. It never did before. Elisa makes this place home. It's a something she realises had always been missing when she'd been living with her mother in Agate, and then later with her father, here in Pyrite. It's something she hadn't known she'd needed until now.]

[Elisa keeps that grin on her face, even while she listens to what Jo has to say. Sure, the place isn't exactly ideal in most ways; Elisa would stay for just the battles, if anything. Elisa nods, though; Jo's lived here for far longer, and she seems to know this place's faults more than anyone. Elisa chuckles.]
Elisa seems okay through the tensing, though it confuses her a bit at first; she hears the curse and lets Jo finish what she has to say with a bit of her grin turning into a real smile.]
Before I met ya, the battles were all that kept me here. 's not a bad thing; it's better than Johto or Kanto in regards to excitement, in it's own way. I live for battlin' and kickin' everyone's asses.
[Elisa pauses a bit, considering her words a bit before she speaks.]
...That's what love does to ya, doesn't it? [She titters a bit, but remains pretty serious.] Makes ya think yer missin' somethin' ya didn't even know about. We all got that feelin'.
...I'm glad I can be the one to complete it for ya. Ya complete it for me too--I got somethin' more to look forward to.
[Elisa can make up for Jo's words, even if it is mostly just her voicing her own feelings with Jo's words.]

Well. [Jo raises a hand to Elisa's face, resting her palm to Elisa's cheek. Her other arm stays looped around Elisa's waist, pulling her closer until their chests are flush together.] You know I'm glad if I can make you feel that way too.
[The way she's holding Elisa and the way she's looking her in the eyes helps soften how formal that had sounded. Again, she's not good with words. Which is exactly why she doesn't hesitate any longer before she kisses her. It's so much easier to express with her body what she can't bring her voice to admit out loud. The kiss is honest and firm, Jo's hand still cupping Elisa's face.]

[Elisa continues to smile; she kind of feels that what she said was on the blunt side, but she still seems happy to have helped her. The hand on her cheek confirms it while Elisa closes her eyes--she loves touch, and that feels so nice...
The kiss, however, is a bit of a shock at first. Elisa's eyes shoot open when she does that and she freezes just a bit. It takes her a good few seconds to get her barrings, but she moves one of her arms up to wrap around Jo's neck and press right back into the kiss.
She was gonna enjoy this for all it was worth. Congrats Jo, you've taken her first kiss and she likes it~]
